This article examines the role of digital infrastructure in attracting foreign direct investment. The analysis uses the share of individuals using the Internet and fixed broadband subscriptions as key indicators of digital development, while foreign direct
investment is measured by FDI net inflows as a percentage of GDP. Based on World Bank data for 2024, 17 countries at different levels of development are compared using descriptive and correlation analyses. The results indicate a weak positive relationship between Internet usage and FDI. However, the considerable differences observed across countries suggest that foreign investment cannot be explained by digital infrastructure alone. The article concludes that digital infrastructure is an important factor supporting investment attractiveness, but its impact depends on broader economic, institutional, and business environment conditions.
