About the Journal

Dear readers!
We present to you the new edition of the collection of scientific works “Features and Problems of Implementing Economic Reforms in Azerbaijan”, published by the Economic Scientific Research Institute (ESRI) under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This collection, as an important publication that scientifically researches and analyzes the experiences, achievements and challenges of our country in the field of economic reforms, has made a great contribution to economic science and economic practice. This year's edition of the collection of scientific works is dedicated to the topic of “Green Economy”, taking into account the fact that 2024 was declared the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World” in Azerbaijan and our country's hosting of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). The concept of a green economy not only responds to global efforts for the transition to sustainable economic development, but also coincides with Azerbaijan's national priorities for socio-economic development set for 2030. This concept provides a way to ensure sustainable development based on the efficient use of natural resources, the development of environmentally friendly production areas, organic agriculture and economic growth in order to ensure progress and prosperity. Azerbaijani science, recognizing that the transition to a green economy will not be easy, will study the problems encountered on this path and actively participate in finding original solutions to them. Thus, the application of the principles of the green economy concept to economic planning and decision-making requires the implementation of significant reforms, the attraction of investments in environmentally friendly technologies, the mastering of new green skills by the workforce, the establishment of a strong legal and regulatory framework that can support and guide the transition to a green economy, as well as the formation of green thinking in society. The new issue of the collection plays the role of a platform for the exchange of ideas and views around the green economy concept, reflecting the broad prospects and problems of challenges and opportunities related to the green economy in Azerbaijan and the world. We hope that the information and analysis presented here will support ongoing discussions on economic reforms in Azerbaijan and inspire further research and practical actions towards a green and sustainable future for our country.
